Customize Your Search Results through Google’s “SearchWikiâ€
Are there times when you do not agree with Google’s search results? Do you sometimes wish you could change them? Google now gives you that power through “SearchWiki.â€
Google launched “SearchWiki†on Thursday and according to the Official Google Blog, it is “a way for you to customize search by re-ranking, deleting, adding, and commenting on search results. With just a single click you can move the results you like to the top or add a new site. You can also write notes attached to a particular site and remove results that you don’t feel belong. These modifications will be shown to you every time you do the same search in the future.â€
This new service is available for all Google users. Any changes made using SearchWiki will be stored on that users account and will show up when same searches are made in the future.
Take note that if you use this service, the changes made are applicable only to your individual search and will not affect the search made by other people. If you would like to see the changes made by other people, you just need to simply click on the “See all notes for this SearchWiki†link.
The SearchWiki service has been offered by Google as an experiment for some months now. Selected people are able to test this service even before it was launched.
According to the Official Google Blog: “This new feature is an example of how search is becoming increasingly dynamic, giving people tools that make search even more useful to them in their daily lives. We are constantly striving to improve our users’ search experience, and this is yet another step along the way.â€
