Print Photos Directly from your iPhone with HP’s iPrint Photo

Here’s an easier way to print photos from your iPhone or iPod Touch – the iPrint Photo.
HP announced the new application called iPrint Photo which will allow users to wirelessly print photos directly from their iPhone or iPod Touch. It can be used for photos that are taken with the iPhone’s camera or the ones that were transferred to it and the iPod Touch from the computer.
This is very convenient because users need not transfer the images they have stored on their iPhone or iPod Touch before they have it printed. They simply need to select the photo and iPrint will prompt the printer to print the selected photo.
iPrint Photo works by utilizing Apple’s Bonjour system which automatically looks for wireless HP printers or other HP printers on a wireless network.
Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice-president of the Imaging and Printing Group at HP said, “Today’s news demonstrates how HP is enabling customers to turn special moments captured on the go into high-quality photos. More than any other company in the world, HP has re-imagined, re-engineered and re-invented the power of printing with exciting new technologies that address real customer needs.â€
The application may sound great but there are still some drawbacks to using it. iPrint can only be used together with HP printers and can only support JPEG images. Also, it can only print 4 x 6-inch photos so you can’t use it if you want larger photo prints.
iPrint Photo can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store for free.
