toshibatg01 main Toshiba Releases the TG01 Featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon

Toshiba introduced their newest smartphone called the TG01 on Tuesday. Not only is this smartphone sleek and classy, measuring only 9.9 mm thick, but it is also the first to use Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon silicon.

The Snapdragon QSD2850 chipset features a 1GHz processor and supports 3D graphics, XGA display and a mobile broadcast TV.

Aside from Qualcomm’s  Snapdragon, the TG01 also features has a 4.1-inch WVGA 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen display, 3G HSDPA support, Wi-Fi, GPA, A-GPS, and a card slot for up to 32 GB of memory.

Other interesting feature of the TG01 is the accelerometer which allows users to answer or end calls or go back to the home screen just by shaking the phone. The accelerometer also allows users to rotate the phone’s display. The smartphone also has a virtual trackpad which makes it even easier for users to navigate different webpages.

The TG01 makes use of the Windows Mobile 6.1 and offers a direct access to Facebook, Google and YouTube.

Toshiba is expected to give more details regarding the TG01 during the Mobile World Congress in February 16. They are also expected to release the TG01 in Europe this coming summer.
